Parking is limited, so we encourage people to carpool.
Please note that remotely piloted planes will be flying all day, and spectators should stay alert
Food and drink will be available for purchase.

*NOTE: The best route to the UAFS from any direction, is to take highway 51. Turn North on Clay Rd., and proceed 3.2 miles. The field is on the right.

PLEASE ALL TEAMS AND SPECTATORS SHOULD MINIMIZE THE NUMBER OF VEHICLES AT THE SITE. CARPOOL! Parking is limited since the ground is wet.   We will also be parking in the street. We are trying to keep the west fenceline on the gravel free for busses to park, so please do not park on the west fenceline or in the circle drive which is for the food trucks.

0525 25 April:   A decision has been made about the weather based on the latest forecast:
We will be running an accelerated contest schedule. Alpha will start flights immediately after safety briefing at 0830 with a reduced window of 10 min each. India will commence at or before 0920 with 6-plane heats each round.   We will fly two or possibly 3 complete rounds which will take us to noon.   If rain is still forecast for 1:00 we will immediately cease the contest to allow teams time to clear out. If the forecast improves we will consider continuing flights

Event Scheduling based on Weather

Any announcements regarding weather will be announced here, so please check back frequently.
Due to factors such as contracts in place, the rain date decision to move to Sunday will be based on the Saturday forecast at 4:00 pm on Friday.
It is possible that the Saturday opening and schedule could be pushed back if weather forecast Saturday morning suggests that timing will allow flying later on Saturday. This decision will be made by 0500 Saturday morning before teams have left for the trip to Stillwater.
If the forecast changes overnight by 0500 so much that flying isnt possible Saturday, the decision to cancel or move to Sunday will be made.
If lightning is detected within 8mi of the airfield, everyone will be asked to shelter in their vehicles for 30 min. from the last strike.

Sunrise 6:44am   Sunset is 8:12 pm

FRIDAY

2:00pm to 7:00pm: Technical inspections. Teams are encouraged to go through technical inspection on Friday night in order to reduce the possibility of missing flight attempts on Saturday morning. Alpha teams may be offered scoring rounds on Friday based on weather forecast for Saturday.

5:00pm Dinner will be provided to participants ( students, teachers, volunteers)

SATURDAY

7:00am Gates open
8:00am Competitor Registration / Technical inspections
8:30am Pilot / Flight Crew Briefing
9:00am Scoring fligts begin
12:00pm-1:00pm (approximately) Teams and judges will break for lunch.   Demo flights

Heats will begin immediately after and alternate between Alpha, India, and demos all day. Weather permitting, teams will be provided with at least 3 opportunities to fly. Depending on weather conditions, teams could have as many as 8 flight rounds.

7:00pm or earlier Awards Presentation

SUNDAY

Rain Date. If Saturday event is cancelled due to weather, the schedule for Saturday will apply to Sunday.
